Lost & Found

Okay, anyone who knows me even a little bit knows that I lose EVERYTHING. Here is a list of important things that I have lost in the past (and never found):

1. Chanel sunglasses
2. Mother's 5 - year anniversary opal ring
3. Marc Jacobs sunglasses
4. Fleece jacket
5. Cell phones

Add to this list the things I have lost repeatedly, but have thankfully found (I think they call this "misplaced") :

1. Keys
2. Wallets
3. Cell phones (Jeremy calls my phone on a DAILY basis when I can't find it! In fact, one time, I couldn't find my laptop, and I was whining to Jeremy, and he said, "I don't know, Kara, I can't call that!" Ha!)
4. Hospital ID badge
5. Planner
6. Cheerleading skirt
7. Engagement ring

Additionally, I am sure I have a veritable wardrobe of misplaced clothing items throughout the world. Hopefully they will come back to me in karma.

After all of this, it is with great pleasure that I announce the finding of my digital camera!!! :) (It fell behind my bedside table in its protective case) Of course, as some of you know, my digital camera was out of commission prior its finding because I had "misplaced" its power cord.

So, to celebrate, here is a photo of my new Ray-Ban sunglasses, just like dad's!  (Schafer gals feel free to insert now the "Hello, I'm Randy Schafer, and you're watching Jack*ss" comment like we always do!)

Please note the rose-colored lenses...a metaphor for life, if you will.

Ahh, the return of photos with my blogs....YESSSS!

Swine flu...economic collapse...new office lease negotiations...waterboarding investigations...with so much bad news lately, its easy forget all the things to be happy about and grateful for! Here's an easy ten to start:

10. Beautiful weather in Ohio

8. Great conversation and cocktails with work friends at eleven
7. Reliable transportation
6. Brunch (my favorite meal!) with much-loved aunties at Le Chatelaine
5. Fiance and dog who are glad to see me after a long weekend apart.
4. The Future.
3. 30 Rock
2. A church home in both my homes (aka Ironton and Columbus)
1. The song "Daylight" by Matt and Kim

:) That makes Monday more bearable, right?

Starbucks Wifi

5:11pm: Enter Starbucks, Marysville, OH.

Me: Do you have Wi-Fi?

Counter Guy: Do you have a registered Starbucks Card?

Me: Um...I have a least five Starbucks cards...I think there is a collective $.72 on them...no, they aren't registered.

Counter Guy: Okay, its really easy, just register the card and you can get free Wi-Fi here.

Me: Great! (rummage through purse...past eight lip glosses, old receipts, powder brush and phone) No Starbucks card in sight.

Me: Okay, give me a card with $10 on it.

Counter Guy: Which one? I like the doves.

Me: (getting frustrated...if I was at Panera I'd already have sent my email and Power Point attachment to Rachel for Friday's dental health fair!) Doves are great! Fine!

5:25pm: Still no internet access. After seemingly HOURS of navigating the Starbucks registration site...at&t WiFi site...SBC global website...Counter Guy thinks something wrong with Marysville tower b/c HIS iTouch won't access the internet, nor will my iPhone. I feel like I'm on a desert island.

5:30pm: Online!! WooHoo

5:35:pm: Consistent error messages from yahoo! trying to send my huge attachments! Are you kidding me?

5:45pm: Success! Email sent, one less thing on my to-do list! Now off to Big Boy for Mom's Bday Dinner! Dad will probably just say, "things were better when we only had CB radios and the postal service...

:) But I did get a free coffee out of it! :)

80+ years old and as I type she's chilling in Hawaii...that's years with some life in them, eh? Kiki and Adam broke out their nuptual Snuggie:

Up next: Snuggie Pub Crawl. Time and date TBA.

Barky McBarkerson got a bath. She's not pleased...but neither are we when we get our 5:00am wake-up bark every morning!

Forgetful again!

Sniffles. :(

I really REALLY wanted to blog today but realized I can't find my camera charger. Or my cellphone charger. So no phone and no pictures from tonight's girlfriend get-together!

Better luck tomorrow!

Today is...

My BFF Kaye's birthday! Top Ten Things About Kaye:

10. She and I share a brain. Its creepy and cool how we feel the same way about things.
9. She is super smart. S-M-R-T. No really, she graduated with a 4.0 from BGSU. Wowie Kazowie.
8. She was one of those lucky kids who had a pony growing up.
7. She lived just up the street from me for a lot of my childhood. Some of my fondest childhood memories involve hijinxs at her house.  No pony involved, thanks.
6. Kaye and I love the books Watership Down, the Dark Tower series by Stephen King, and Life of Pi.
5. Kaye and I used to have a huge crush on Val Kilmer.
4. Kaye and I still have a huge crush on Val Kilmer.
3. Kaye is going to be one of my bridesmaids! She's what we refer to as the "model" because everything looks great on her! The blue eyes and blonde hair (natural, thank you very much) don't hurt, either.
2. Kaye reminds me of Benvolio, the voice of reason, from Romeo and Julie.
1. Kaye could never, ever be replaced. She is, has, and will be, one of the closest friends I have ever had. We should all be so lucky so get one friend like this maybe once in our life. Love ya, girl! :)
